How did your love for Spain and the Spanish language begin? Back in 2010, I fell in love with the Spanish language the first time I heard it thanks to the popular series The Serranos (Spanish: Los Serrano), with which I fell in love with the language, customs, culture and gastronomy of the most beautiful country in the world.
How did the idea to found UljŠ come about? The association was born out of a personal passion for Spain and the desire to create a community that connects like-minded people through culture, language and authentic experiences. In my environment, there are many people who not only love Spain, but like me, want to live it. UljŠ is a community that provides all these opportunities.
What is the main mission of the Association? How would you like to impact the community? - The mission of the Association is to nurture cultural bridges between Serbia and Spain through education, events and togetherness, and to create a sense of belonging wherever we are.
In what ways do you bring Spanish culture closer to people in Serbia? - Through authentic gastronomic experiences, art, language, music, dance and travel within which we create a space where Spanish culture is lived on an everyday level.
How do you choose the activities, events and topics you cover? - Through regular communication with members and followers, we receive feedback and follow current trends in Spanish culture and social trends. In this way, we create content that is relevant, inspiring and authentic, with the aim that each activity contributes to connecting and expanding the community.
Do you cooperate with embassies, cultural centers or educational institutions? - Since the Association was recently officially registered, it already has significant support from the Embassy of Spain in Belgrade and the Department of Iberian Studies at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. In the coming period, we plan to expand those connections and include even more relevant institutions and partners.
Who can be members? - Members can be all lovers of Spain and the Spanish language, regardless of age, profession, nationality, religion...
