There are places in Spain that take your breath away with their magnificent cathedrals, famous museums, and picturesque plazas. However, there are also places that whisper their magic to those seeking lesser-known corners. One of them is Albarracín, a hidden gem in Aragon, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Located near Teruel, this place seems like something out of a fairy tale.

Why Albarrásín? Because it's not yet very popular with tourists, and it's a perfect opportunity to connect with the locals. Here you can stroll through its narrow cobblestone streets and listen to the silence, broken only by the occasional footstep or the whisper of the wind. Because you can climb the fortress and gaze out over the Guadalquivir Valley as the sunset tinges the entire landscape with golden hues. Here you can still sit in a small tavern, order homemade cheese and wine from the nearby vineyards, while the waiter tells you about knights, an incredible history, and forests where you can spot deer.

What to see and experience?

  • Albarracín Walls – walls that surround the city and offer one of the most beautiful views in Spain;

  • Albarracín Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de Albarracín): a combination of Gothic and Mudéjar styles, a silent witness to Spanish faith and art;

  • Diocesan Museum (in Spanish: Museo de Albarracín): small, but full of valuable objects;

  • Nature trails - Albarasín is a paradise for hikers and walkers: the trails run through canyons, waterfalls, and pine forests.

If you want to experience Spain in a completely new way, visit Albarracín and enjoy its charms away from the noise of the city and the multitude of tourists.
