In this city, the sun shines more than 300 days a year, its castle overlooks the sea from a height of 166 meters, and the main promenade is covered with more than 6 million small stones forming a unique mosaic. ¡Bienvenidos a Alicante!
It is one of the most beautiful seaside destinations located in southeastern Spain, in the Valencian region. Known for its warm and pleasant climate throughout the year, Alicante is equally popular among tourists and locals. This is definitely a place that combines the energy of a big city with the relaxed atmosphere of a coastal town, making it a perfect choice for both a long weekend getaway and a longer vacation.
Here is some useful information to help you organize an independent trip:
✈️ Transportation
Wizz Air operates a direct flight from Belgrade to Alicante, lasting around 3 hours. If you are lucky, a round-trip ticket with hand luggage can be found for as little as €60.
The airport is located about 15 minutes by car from the city center. We had organized transportation through Booking, but one downside is that arrival and departure flights are often late in the evening, which can complicate accommodation plans. Besides taxis, there is also the C6 bus line, which runs every 15 minutes from the airport and takes you quickly to the city center. In October 2025, a one-way ticket to the city center cost slightly less than €5.
If you are planning trips to nearby towns and beaches, you can use public transport or rent a car. If you choose the second option, we recommend booking through Discover Cars, where you can find numerous offers and easily choose what suits you best.
You can check the offer here: Find your perfect car.
🏨 Accommodation
Accommodation prices in Alicante are slightly higher due to tourism (especially during summer), so we recommend booking as early as possible. We found an apartment in an apart-hotel through Booking, located right in the city center, just a 10-minute walk from the main city beach.
The average price for decent accommodation starts from €80 per night, depending on location and amenities. Feel free to contact us if you need a recommendation for accommodation for up to two people, as we were extremely satisfied with our choice.
💶 Prices in Alicante
There are numerous restaurants and bars on every corner where you can enjoy both local and international cuisine. Prices are similar to those in Belgrade, but keep in mind that they are higher in busy, tourist areas. On average, expect €15–20 per person or more, depending on various factors. There are also Spanish grocery stores, fast food places, and smaller bars offering more affordable options in the city center.
